Obwohl sie dem schmierigen Scheusal entronnen sind, haben Violet, Klaus und Sunny immer noch schlimme Träume, in denen Graf Olaf vorkommt: seine scheussliche hagere Gestalt, seine fiese keuchende Stimme, und das Auge, das er als Tätowierung am Knöchel trägt. Rowling und Harry Potter." "Suchtgefährdend!" Über den Autor: Lemony Snickets einziger Lebenssinn war es, die Geschichte der Baudelaire-Waisen aufzuzeichnen. Dieses fürchterliche Vorhaben hat ihn zu zahlreichen Schauplätzen äusserst schrecklicher Verbrechen geführt, meist in der Nebensaison. Nachdem diese unmenschliche Aufgabe nun erfüllt ist, wird sich Lemony Snicket ganz einem zurückgezogenen Leben als Einsiedler hingeben. Ich habe das Buch eher zufällig in einer Buchhandlung mitgenommen, weil ich den bibliophilen Einband hübsch fand und mir der Stil beim Querlesen einer Seite gefiel. Das Buch hat mich nicht enttäuscht. Hinter der erschröcklichen Geschichte wird so viel mit den Augen gezwinkert, dass man mit Vergnügen vom einen Entsetzen ins nächste fällt. Die Hauptmission des Autors, die immer wieder durchdringt, gefällt mir (und natürlich Kindern) sowieso: Kinder hätten viel weniger Trouble in der Welt, wenn die Erwachsenen, die es angeblich gut mit ihnen meinen, ihnen richtig zuhören und sie ernst nehmen würden. Ich habe den Band 1 und den Band 2 von "Eine Reihe betrüblicher Ereignisse" erst gestern bekommen und war so gefesselt, dass ich gar nicht mehr aufhören konnte zu lesen! Die Situation der Baudelaire-Kinder ist aussichtslos und trüb und trotzdem schafft der Autor es immer wieder, den Leser zum Lachen zu bringen und zu zeigen wie die Kinder durch ihr Zusammenhalten das Schlimmste überstehen können. Den Tod ihrer Eltern und auch den Schicksalsschlag, der im zweiten Band auf sie wartet (das will ich lieber noch nicht verraten) können Klaus, Violet und Sunny überwinden, indem sie an schöne Zeiten zurückdenken und aus dem Schrecklichsten etwas Schönes machen! Und so gelingt es ihnen immer wieder Graf Olafs Pläne durch die Erfindungen von Violet, das Wissen von Klaus und den Biss von Sunny zu durchkreuzen! Ich kann es kaum erwarten, mir den dritten Band zu kaufen! Es lohnt sich wirklich! Band eins dieser Reihe hat mir sehr gefallen, und mit Band zwei ist es genauso. Die Baudelaire-Kinder Violet, Klaus und Sunny erleben ihr nächstes Abenteuer, wieder sehr verschroben humorvoll und gespickt mit skurrilen Ideen. Wie schon im ersten Band fand ich die Ratschläge des Autors an den Leser und die Erklärungen zu verwendeten Fremdwörtern sehr unterhaltsam, man wartet immer schon auf die nächste Erläuterung, einfach herrlich. Die armen Baudelaires, bei denen ich mich gar nicht entscheiden kann, wen ich am meisten mag (im Moment tendiere ich zu der bissigen Sunny), finden auch bei ihrem Onkel Monty nur kurz das Nest, dass man ihnen nur halbherzig wünscht, denn dann wäre die Geschichte auserzählt. Der bösartige Olaf lässt natürlich keine Bösartigkeit aus, um ihres Vermögens habhaft zu werden. Wie es ausgeht muss jeder selbst lesen, und das kann ich wirklich empfehlen, wie schon beim ersten Band, (allerdings auch hier wieder nicht für jüngere Kinder): ungewöhnlich, humorvoll, spannend.
